years ago, during malabar mahotsav,at calicut i chanced to be one of the audience to experience the zakir hussain percussion waves.till that moment i was a bit allergic to hindustani music and its accompaniments and later deeply sorrowful of being so.but that evening when i attended the rhythms born from the tabla of zakir hussain and allah rakha-(mainly zakir hussain),i did not even dream that it was a turning point in my life to get such golden chances for listening to the hindustani music.and thanks to the malabar mahotsav and zakir hussain, now i have a large collection of hindustani classics both vocal and instrumental.so great a prodigy zakir hussain is.
this paved the way for me to hear the classic concerts of many versatile genius, prolific throats and hearts from where that melodious ragas stream to join the ocean of music, beating rhythms on the banks and the waves singing in full-throated ease.
