Jyotsna Shourie began learning bharatanatyam at the age of six. She humbly acknowledges the huge debt that she owes to her Guru Sri Kalyanasunderam Pillai. Jyotsna Shourie reflects her powerful vision for her art, that of widening the boundaries of traditional bharatanatyam through varied influences. Malaysia Bharathanatya Dance Association presents Festival of Bharatnatyam, a dance recital by Jotysna Shourie & group from Delhi depicting life’s journey of two celebrated heroines in Indian mythology, Sita and Draupadi. The recital pictures the inner emotions of women as they traverse through different periods of time.
