Deepak Raja is a sitar and surbahar player of the Etawah Gharana. He has studied with late Pulin Deb Burman and Pandit Arvind Parikh. He also studies Khayal with Dhondutai Kulkarni of the Jaipur Atrauli Gharana. He is a columnist on Hindustani Music for SRUTI and a repertoire analyst for India Archive Music Ltd., New York. He has recently published a book entitled “Hindustani Music-a tradition in transition”. By profession, Deepak Raja is a media and financial analyst.
