Nearly 80 students ranging in age from 4-60 years took center stage Sept. 28 at the Amador Theater here to take forward the legacy of Kathak maestros “Nritya Shiromoni” Guru Bandana Sen and her daughter “Nrityavilash” Smt. Suchandra Banerjee, and their senior disciple Pragya Dasgupta, founder and cultural and artistic director of Calif.-based TARANA Dance Academy.

“Not only have my gurus introduced me to this classical dance form (Kathak), but they have also guided me throughout my dance journey and continue to do so to date,” Dasgupta told India-West.
