My grandfather once shared that even rickshaw-wallahs in Mylapore used to throng the local Sabha to listen to Mani Iyer’s concert – especially in the end. To me, “Eppo Varuvaaro” was immortalised in his rendition and even now, every time I listen to this song, I only think of my old tape version of Mani Iyer’s version. Thanks to RaviKiran for this lovely article.
