Kishori Amonkar has been honoured with the ‘Pandit Hari prasad Chaurasia Puraskar’ instituted by Gurukul Pratishthan for her outstanding contribution to Indian classical music for over seven decades. She will receive the awards at the hands of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia at the seventh edition of ‘Bansuri Utsav’ to be held on January 4 and 5, 2014 in Thane.

The event will take place at the Shri Shiv Samarth Mandal high school grounds and would be featuring stalwarts of Hindustani classical music such as Pandit Chaurasia himself, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Trilok Gurtu, Ravi Chari and Vivek Sonar, who is a senior disciple of Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia.
