On October 20 during the Navaratri celebrations, Priya Venkataraman, a disciple of A. Lakshman, presented a solo Bharatanatyam recital at Azad Bhavan Auditorium of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Delhi. Priya evoked images of the Goddess in her various manifestations. From Kalidasa’s Kumarasambhavam, Priya selected stanzas which dwelt upon Parvati’s penance for Lord Shiva and in a cameo portrayed Parvati’s plight. The musical accompaniment of nattuvangam was by A Lakshman, mridangam by Viswanathan, violin by Annadurai and vocal was by Sudha Raghuraman.
