Meera Srinivasan’s tribute to ‘Sarasa Teacher’, as she was fondly called, highlights the contributions and achievements of a person whose entire life was a dedication to Bharatanatyam.

Guru KJ Sarasa was the recepient of many titles such as the Kalaimamani, Natyaselvam,  Natyaratna, Swarnakalasam and the best Bharatanatyam guru award from the Sangita Nataka Academy. She taught many leading dancers and her pupils included the TN Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, writer Sivasankari among many others.
