As a Rasika, there are some basic Concert Etiquette guidelines for each of us to follow. At Margazhi.org, our endeavour is to create an audience culture that respects every performing artist. Practise these simple steps to ensure that you contribute to a positive concert experience for you and other Rasikas.

  • Keep your mobile on silent or vibrator mode during the entire concert duration.
  • Do not take engage in mobile conversations during the performance.
  • If you must attend to a phone call, try and step out of the auditorium.

  • Avoid flash & photography as it distracts the performers and other patrons.
  • Do not take photographs or record audio/video of the performance without explicit permission of organizers and/or artists

  •  Be seated atleast a few minutes before the concert begins.
  • Be sure to check if seats are assigned already or it is free seating.
  • Avoid reserving seats unless they will be occupied within 5 to 10 minutes.

  • If you expect to leave the concert before the end, pick a seat closer to the aisle and exits.
  • Do not talk during the performance or engage in any noisy or distracting behavior.
  • If you must walk in or leave the performance mid-way, try and do so during breaks between pieces and do so quietly.
